[00:00:00] TREY GERRALD: I'm fighting the urge to make a thrusting sound. Queens, it is time to Review, Review That Review, episode 106. This is maybe one of the most recent that you've heard so far on our review, and there is a very strong reason why. This episode did originally air on June 14th of 2023. Chelsey went down a total rabbit hole. I like to think of those little Russian dolls where you like take one off and there's another one and then you take that one off and there's another one and there's another one. It's like peeling back an onion. This episode is so whack. It's like, it just, it's a, it's a soap opera in itself. So obviously it requires another listening. I hope that you enjoy, if you didn't catch it the first time around, here it is, please make sure you leave a 5 star rating and review on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, whatever it is that you are listening to this voice on right now, pump us up, pump, pump the jam, pump it up!

[00:00:53] THEME SONG: Everybody's got an opinion.

Online haters are comin' for you!

Baby, it's time to Review That Review!

[00:01:22] TREY GERRALD: Hello Hey! Welcome once again to Review That Review. We are the podcast that is dedicated to reviewing Reviews! That lovely voice is Trey Gerald. And that lovely voice was Chelsey Donn.

[00:01:42] TREY GERRALD: But when we come together, you know that we are

[00:01:45] CHELSEY DONN: The

[00:01:46] VOICEOVER: Review Queens.

[00:01:49] CHELSEY DONN: But first, Trey, it is your week. I know you've had a whole week. Would you like to Lodge a complaint.

[00:01:57] TREY GERRALD: Yes, I would. I fell victim.

[00:02:00] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, no.

[00:02:01] TREY GERRALD: Several weeks ago, maybe even a month at this point. I did Instagram about it. So you may have seen but I was, I was working out at the gym.

[00:02:11] TREY GERRALD: And I kept noticing this girl was live streaming her workout at the gym. Oh, yeah. Are you out of your motherfucking mind? Have we succumb that horribly as a culture? Are you fucking kidding? Let me just put into perspective here. This was a gorgeous, beautiful woman, very physically fit.

[00:02:35] CHELSEY DONN: Sure.

[00:02:35] TREY GERRALD: She did not break a bead of sweat.

[00:02:38] TREY GERRALD: And I'm in the background, like, dying of sweat. Like, I am a sweater, so I'm sweating, but like, disgusting.

[00:02:44] CHELSEY DONN: Were you in the footage? Yes!

[00:02:48] TREY GERRALD: But let me just paint the picture. This is a gym, right?

[00:02:52] CHELSEY DONN: Yes.

[00:02:53] TREY GERRALD: She has a little mini tripod that her phone is attached to and she goes and she'll do three reps on like the quad machine.

[00:03:02] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah,

[00:03:02] TREY GERRALD: and she's like looking over and like smiling and batting her like false eyelashes, right? She has like

[00:03:08] CHELSEY DONN: gross giant

[00:03:10] TREY GERRALD: makeup on like I do drag makeup. I know when someone's face is beat. You were at the gym, ma'am. And then she would do her three little reps. And go bend her little ass over, face to face with the camera, Hi CasperGirl17, I love you Gina Jason 765, throw me some hearts, fans, and then she would like, have on full conversations, Live streaming at the gym.

[00:03:39] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, you did not volunteer to be a background actor.

[00:03:42] TREY GERRALD: No, honey child, I pay my annual dues because I'm a principal performer on camera. I do not work in the background unless you're gonna pay me, Okay, honey child, I could not believe it. My God, that's terrible. Who live streams their workout?

[00:04:00] CHELSEY DONN: I mean, it's bad enough when people are like recording their workouts.

[00:04:05] TREY GERRALD: Yes.

[00:04:06] CHELSEY DONN: Anything more than that? I

[00:04:10] TREY GERRALD: mean, it is annoying to me when people are recording themselves, but I also get that's accountability for people. And sometimes people document their journey. So sure. Okay. But the audacity to live stream while you're at the gym. It is like the most narcissistic, like, I, I, I'm like baffled.

[00:04:32] TREY GERRALD: I'm at a loss for words that you are that self absorbed to engage in the narcissistic practice of saying hello to your virtual fans. Like, it's like,

[00:04:45] CHELSEY DONN: so you didn't rent out the gym. As your film studio.

[00:04:49] TREY GERRALD: But on top of all of that, it was so weird to me that this girl was not really working out. Like, right.

[00:04:55] TREY GERRALD: It was all like feigning the work. But obviously, she was someone who does work out. But sure, she was not sweating.

[00:05:02] CHELSEY DONN: Well, she probably like films that like does like whatever she needs to do. And then actually goes and like works out. Yes. Because how could you work out and do that? You couldn't. You You couldn't!

[00:05:12] CHELSEY DONN: You couldn't! I mean, you can't be anaerobic and being like, Hi, Stacey125.

[00:05:19] TREY GERRALD: I mean, I just, I couldn't get over the calling out of the names of the people. So obnoxious. Like

[00:05:24] CHELSEY DONN: beyond obnoxious. I'm sorry you had to deal with that, Trey.

[00:05:27] TREY GERRALD: That's my complaint. Just, you know, if you are ever someone that live streams the workouts, just pause for a second.

[00:05:35] TREY GERRALD: And just zoom out. Look at what we're doing on this planet. That's my complaint. Yeah, well, I'm glad I was able to release that. And now you've had to take it on. So that feels better in my mind.

[00:05:47] CHELSEY DONN: You know what? It's my pleasure to take away some of that.

[00:05:50] TREY GERRALD: Thank you. Well, Chelsea.

[00:05:52] CHELSEY DONN: Yes.

[00:05:53] TREY GERRALD: Are you ready to share with me the review you brought in for this week?

[00:05:56] TREY GERRALD: Yeah.

[00:05:57] CHELSEY DONN: I am. Should we jump in? Let's do it! Review That Review. As you know, we are your trusty review queens. We bring in reviews from the internet that we feel need to be inspected.

[00:06:14] TREY GERRALD: We read you that review, then we break it down together and rate the impact of the review on a scale from zero to five crowns.

[00:06:22] TREY GERRALD: It's a very regal process that Chelsey and I call Assess That Kevich! So share with us, Chelsey, what is today's review?

[00:06:31] CHELSEY DONN: All right, every once in a while, you know, I hop all over the internet trying to find interesting reviews for Trey and I to talk about. And so I did happen upon a Reddit feed of Zero Star Reviews.

[00:06:46] CHELSEY DONN: So I started just sort of reading through some reviews and I found one. I'm gonna, I'm gonna do a little more research and I'm gonna, I'm gonna find that review. That's all I'm gonna really say for now in terms of the finding of it. And then I'll take you to where I came, which is when I found the actual venue that this review was from.

[00:07:08] CHELSEY DONN: It is called Thruster's Lounge in San Diego, California. This is a Yelp one star review. Written by Jeff Oh.

[00:07:23] TREY GERRALD: Okay.

[00:07:25] CHELSEY DONN: This bar fills top shelf bottles with cheap alcohol. I ordered a Casamigos Neat and was served a cheap tequila from the Casamigos bottle. The bartender was a total dick when I told him that it was not what I ordered.

[00:07:48] CHELSEY DONN: Whack. That's all we're going to hear from Jeff Oh.

[00:07:53] TREY GERRALD: Alright, I have a lot of thoughts here, because you know, in my life, I've been a bartender before.

[00:07:57] CHELSEY DONN: Yes.

[00:07:58] TREY GERRALD: It has never occurred to me to replace bottles. That is so smart.

[00:08:09] TREY GERRALD: Okay, but wait. Oh, my

[00:08:10] CHELSEY DONN: God. So I love that you just said that.

[00:08:12] TREY GERRALD: You know what's there for me about this? So are you

[00:08:13] CHELSEY DONN: saying that you believe Jeff?

[00:08:16] TREY GERRALD: I don't believe Jeff. I think Jeff would need to supply a lot more supporting evidence than the fact that they can taste the difference from a Casamigos Neat. So if you got this tequila served to you neat, that's going to be two ounces.

[00:08:33] TREY GERRALD: That is the proper legal serving of a neat. So that's two ounces of tequila. There's

[00:08:38] CHELSEY DONN: nothing else. It's just straight tequila. Two ounces, like a big shot, kind of.

[00:08:43] TREY GERRALD: And I guess, yes, you can taste the sort of difference. But like, it's just such a bold, claim to make. And then Jeff also says that the bartender's a dick.

[00:08:53] TREY GERRALD: So it's sort of, cause I would imagine it's probably not the bartender that would be replacing the bottles with the more least expensive. Like I would imagine that that would be like the company because who's actually profiting. It's not going to be the bartender,

[00:09:07] CHELSEY DONN: right?

[00:09:07] TREY GERRALD: It's going to be whoever is ordering the bottles, which would, I would imagine would be a manager.

[00:09:12] CHELSEY DONN: I guess so, but they're saying that the bartender was a dick when they told them that this is not what they ordered. Wack. So I don't know if they're saying that, like, the bartender is necessarily the one that pulled this charade, but they're saying that they approached the bartender about it. I'm assuming, meaning that the bartender was like, No, it's not go away.

[00:09:34] TREY GERRALD: Well, right. That sounds like two separate complaints, right? Yeah, it

[00:09:36] CHELSEY DONN: is. I think I think that the first complaint is that we didn't think the drink was right in the second complaint, which is really a complaint for the establishment, right?

[00:09:46] TREY GERRALD: Right. Because what do you think the bar like? I mean, I guess you would hope that the bartender would be like, Oh, Oh, okay.

[00:09:52] TREY GERRALD: Well, let me, let me pour you another one like that. No bartender is going to react that way. They're going to be like, what do you mean? I literally just poured it. You think it's cheap? Like they're going to be like, I

[00:10:01] CHELSEY DONN: think that that's the hard thing to decipher here because it's like, if we're to imagine that maybe Jeff got it wrong and it is really Casamigos, then what is the bartender supposed to do at that point?

[00:10:13] CHELSEY DONN: And I guess even if Jeff was right, You, like, you've been a bartender before. You're not filling the bottles. The bottles are there when you get there. You do, you might be doing inventory to say, like, how much is left of a bottle when you start. I remember that from Mary Poppins. But like, other than you sort of doing your general accounting of where you are in the beginning of your shift versus where you are in the end of your shift, you're not the one who's actually getting those bottles.

[00:10:41] CHELSEY DONN: So like, the bartender must think that this is Casamigos. Of course, they're gonna react, like, what do you want me to do about it? I mean, it does kind of seem like a money grab in a way, like, you're trying, are you trying to get a refund? Like, what are you trying to do?

[00:10:56] TREY GERRALD: Yeah, it's like such an act, like, it's like an expose, right?

[00:10:59] TREY GERRALD: Like, if Jeff was to really prove this point, they would need hidden cameras, they would need an extended amount of time to show that it's the same bottle with the same dust on the side, that, like, it's. Continuously getting bigger. Like, like, it's just like, it's such a wild accusation or

[00:11:17] CHELSEY DONN: even though it's obnoxious and we do kind of like hate it when reviewers go there.

[00:11:21] CHELSEY DONN: But even if they were like, I'm a tequila expert, I've was a trained bartender and I know the difference between every tequila from the second I taste it, you know, just. Build yourself up in credibility a little bit because you're not giving us any credibility. You just had to kill a knee and you're automatically going with the assumption that they switched it.

[00:11:46] CHELSEY DONN: I mean, I don't know. I don't know why I'm not really trusting a hundred percent what Jeff is saying, but, well, you

[00:11:52] TREY GERRALD: just said it. There's no supporting evidence here. There's no doubt. I guess there's no

[00:11:55] CHELSEY DONN: supporting evidence. But then at the same time, I'm like, well, what if they're right?

[00:11:59] TREY GERRALD: Then give us more information.

[00:12:01] TREY GERRALD: Help us know that you're right. Otherwise, you're just saying the word whack.

[00:12:05] CHELSEY DONN: That's true.

[00:12:06] TREY GERRALD: Like, that's not valuable to me. I can't tell if you're being truthful or shady. It sounds to me like you're being shady because you're saying they're lying to you. The bartender's a dick, which is like a secondary complaint, has nothing to do with this wild accusation you're claiming.

[00:12:19] TREY GERRALD: And then you say, whack. Now I'm like, how many have you drunk before you realized that this Costa Migos neat is fake? Like, I'm just sort of like, really not questioning this. And I've never even considered it. So I don't think this is typical.

[00:12:36] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, I was going to say, I don't think I would hope that this isn't something that's typical.

[00:12:41] CHELSEY DONN: It's not something that I've ever really heard of. I mean, I'm sure maybe it exists. I don't go to bars that much, but, and we're not really giving that much information about the bar. At the same time, I understand it's a review and your review seems to be this accusation, but I'm not really getting. Any information about like the ambiance or any of the other factors of this location as like a review reader?

[00:13:05] TREY GERRALD: Yeah. There's nothing about thrusters at all.

[00:13:07] CHELSEY DONN: Right?

[00:13:08] TREY GERRALD: It's just an accusation

[00:13:09] CHELSEY DONN: and it's also called thrusters, which makes me feel like this is not high brow.

[00:13:16] TREY GERRALD: No, it, it makes me think, I thought it was gonna be like about with strippers or something.

[00:13:21] CHELSEY DONN: Same. Yeah, like it's it just seems like it's it's like fratty or something like that.

[00:13:27] CHELSEY DONN: And I think that a lot of people that are going to go to a bar called Thrusters aren't going to be so concerned with the Casamigos.

[00:13:35] TREY GERRALD: To me, I feel like they're probably going to be getting beer.

[00:13:39] CHELSEY DONN: Exactly. Like, I feel like this is like a beer bar. So I don't think that this is a deal breaker. You know, nah.

[00:13:46] CHELSEY DONN: In any way.

[00:13:47] TREY GERRALD: I think I can crown this.

[00:13:48] CHELSEY DONN: I can crown. I can crown Jeff

[00:13:50] TREY GERRALD: O. Let's do it. So Chelsey and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards. In an effort to be fair and not influenced by one another, we will simultaneously reveal our rating. Here we

[00:14:01] VOICEOVER: go. The queens are tabulating. Time for school.

[00:14:09] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, I'm holding up one crown, Trey is holding up a half crown, you go first. Why a half crown for Jeff O?

[00:14:15] TREY GERRALD: I'm entertained by the prospect of a bar that would go to length, these lengths, to do such a preposterous thing when literally your job is to sell alcohol.

[00:14:26] VOICEOVER: It's

[00:14:26] TREY GERRALD: literally never occurred to me as a possible practice in the 37 years I've been alive.

[00:14:32] TREY GERRALD: So I'm entertained. But it We just said it over and over. Like, Jeff needs more supporting evidence. There needs to be more details. There needs to, as you said, a little bit of credibility on their side. Also, like, what? Yeah. What? Casamigos? Like, get real. Yeah. If you're, well, whatever. I have a lot of opinions, but I don't find this useful.

[00:14:52] TREY GERRALD: There would be no impact, except for I would maybe thrusters as, are they being shady? Sure. Chelsey, why did you say a whole half extra? Why did you say one?

[00:15:03] CHELSEY DONN: I said one because I do think maybe after reading this, regardless of whether or not I believe or I don't believe, I might be more likely to get like a beer or a wine or, you know, something else from this bar.

[00:15:14] CHELSEY DONN: I do think that is there. Like if there is some shadiness going on, maybe I don't want to go top shelf. I really think that that's the only information here. And that's why I gave a crown. I did think it was like, I don't know, somewhat entertaining, but. Just one crown, just one crown's worth of entertainment for Jeffo.

[00:15:34] VOICEOVER: There's a reply!

[00:15:38] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, so this reply is written by Vinny C. I forgot just at the top, and I'm going to quickly just like read this. There's a, you know how it says like from the business and it talks about it? It says Meet the business owner, Vincenzo N. Nicholson. The bar is owned by two members of the award winning high school 90s air band, Downy Fresh, so it's like who we're dealing with.

[00:16:03] CHELSEY DONN: All right, they have a

[00:16:04] TREY GERRALD: song called Thruster or something.

[00:16:05] CHELSEY DONN: I guess maybe I don't know. This is written by Vinny C., Vincenzo N. Nicholson, but the response is Vinny C. Okay, here we go. This is not a direct response to Jeff, rather a fictitious response to a make believe person named FLEF.

[00:16:25] TREY GERRALD: First

[00:16:25] CHELSEY DONN: off, FLEF, you're a giant lying piñata full of barf and turds.

[00:16:32] CHELSEY DONN: FLEF loves whacking the hell out of himself so he can pour his barf and lying turd garbage all over the readers of Yelp Land. FLEF, we do not do what you accuse the bartender of doing, We are not going to compromise our alcoholic ethics for an extra, what, 12 on the back end? Fact is, FLEF, you got a Casamigos.

[00:17:00] CHELSEY DONN: The dick bartender was whack because t'was you who was the whack dick fleff, You were being a huge barfy poop whack dick who was yelling a dumb line. Stop yelping. Just put down your piñata stick fingers and go yelp the mirror, because as of now, that mirror is giving FLEF one measly little complaining self entitled star, but it's not too late to be better.

[00:17:36] CHELSEY DONN: Maybe it wasn't the tequila inside the Casamigos that was fraudulent, rather the contents inside the FLEF that needed some upgrading. FLEF, it's not true what plumbers say, We literally don't need turd people, So good luck out there, suck less, And take that, farty, Jeff O., thank you for letting me use your comment section to write this make believe response to nobody that actually exists.

[00:18:07] CHELSEY DONN: Yelp took down my original response because it went viral, but they said I personally attacked Jeff, yet Jeff calling my bartender a dick and lying about our tequila is totally cool with Yelp.

[00:18:18] TREY GERRALD: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

[00:18:24] CHELSEY DONN: Mm hmm.

[00:18:25] TREY GERRALD: Okay. Well, that final little asterisk conclusion What?

[00:18:30] TREY GERRALD: Totally changed my mind.

[00:18:31] CHELSEY DONN: Yes.

[00:18:32] TREY GERRALD: Because the whole fleff thing, the more you said the word fleff, it got funnier to me. Right. But the whole turd, poop, piñata, fart, poop, like, I was like, this is a little like trying too hard to be funny. So then when I, I'm garnering here that, I guess, It was originally a reply to Jeff.

[00:18:52] TREY GERRALD: So in order to skirt around it, that's why they went in hard with that stuff. Yes. I mean, all right. So it did sort of, I, my major complaint was like, they take the comedy route so hardcore that they don't, they spend so little time saying, This accusation is so absurd for what? A 12 like bonus in our back?

[00:19:16] TREY GERRALD: Like that's so stupid. What are you talking about? I wish there was more as Vinny points out about the alcoholic ethics. Like that's an interesting phrase. I want to hear more. Right about what that means. But I don't know what's there for you.

[00:19:28] CHELSEY DONN: I think Vinny C is like a super frat boy. I think that like he fits within the mold of what I imagined when I heard of a bar named thrusters and the type of guy that would own this kind of bar.

[00:19:42] CHELSEY DONN: I think normally I would say like, it's kind of annoying. It's interesting. Usually the reason why I brought this in was because usually we see These kind of creativity tactics in the review. This is the first time that I've ever seen a reply to the review. That was way more interesting, colorful, divisive, whatever you want to call it.

[00:20:04] CHELSEY DONN: Then the review itself, usually the response is very, Vanilla, you know, so sorry you had a bad experience

[00:20:13] TREY GERRALD: being buttoned up and trying to be a little professional. That

[00:20:16] CHELSEY DONN: is not Vinny C. And there's a part of me that wants to ding him for that. And then there's another part of me that wants to say.

[00:20:23] VOICEOVER: Maybe this is Vinny

[00:20:24] CHELSEY DONN: C being Vinny C and this is thrusters and if you're gonna read this reply and you're gonna have your panties in a kerfuffle then you probably shouldn't come.

[00:20:36] CHELSEY DONN: I feel like the like vibe of this is that if you come out with some like BS you're gonna get roasted.

[00:20:46] TREY GERRALD: Which I think is fair and I also do appreciate that the response was to defend their employee. Right. If the accusation is so false, that then it's sort of like, maybe you're the dick, right? Not my employee, like, get real.

[00:21:02] TREY GERRALD: And then I think the real win here for me in this reply is at the very end, when Vincenzo points out, Let's consider how someone is able to defame my business. And that's okay by Yelp standards, right? But if I roast the person that is inappropriate, why is that double standard there? And maybe you could argue because it's a business rather than a person.

[00:21:29] TREY GERRALD: But if you are Putting this up, isn't it fair for a rebuttal? And if it is a bar called Thrusters, I don't think they need to have the HR PR team of Chick fil A,

[00:21:41] CHELSEY DONN: Right? Certainly not. I don't think any of us need that HR. Yeah, I mean, I think so. I think it's hard because I do wonder what the vetting process is on Yelp.

[00:21:51] CHELSEY DONN: Like, how are things dinged? You know, as well, he said it went viral. I guess it did go viral. That's why

[00:21:58] TREY GERRALD: So then it probably became a culture war where people were staunch on either two sides, Either this is appropriate, inappropriate. Yeah.

[00:22:06] CHELSEY DONN: Are you a Vinny C or are you a Jeff O?

[00:22:10] TREY GERRALD: But the Yelp comment is like, okay, so if Jeff has the free speech to leave this review, then shouldn't Vincenzo have the free speech to respond without having to say Fliff?

[00:22:21] CHELSEY DONN: Right. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. I think it's interesting. I'm trying to think of what I think of Vinny as a manager. Do you think that Vinny is like a nice guy to the people that are working for him? And he's just coming to the defense so hard. against Jeff O in this circumstance or we think Vinny C might be a little bit of a jerk like a little bit like you don't want to cross Vinny C and or you'll get like attacked because again just playing devil's advocate here Jeff O's review was like pretty short right like we called the bartender a dick and we said we made a review A claim, and we said that it was whack, right?

[00:23:05] CHELSEY DONN: That's really all we said. Vinny C came really out swinging hard.

[00:23:12] TREY GERRALD: And maybe if it wasn't Fleff, I would be like, whoa, this is a little unbalanced. That's a good point, Chelsey.

[00:23:18] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, because it's like, you know, we've had People that have responded in quote unquote colorful ways before and still managed to take the high road, which we really respect, like you can really knock someone down a peg and make them seem irrelevant while at the same time making yourself sound great and also not punching down so much.

[00:23:42] CHELSEY DONN: And I do think Vinny is skirting that line. I do think it's more acceptable in this setting, but I do wonder You know, I don't want to, I don't know that I want to paint Vinny C as an angel here. I think Vinny C might have a bit of a temper.

[00:23:59] TREY GERRALD: Well, I think that, like, the point of the reply is having an impact shift from the original post.

[00:24:07] CHELSEY DONN: And I think

[00:24:07] TREY GERRALD: for me, I wasn't buying Jeff to begin with.

[00:24:11] CHELSEY DONN: You weren't, right.

[00:24:12] TREY GERRALD: And I think that seeing this is thrusters like I have a visual of like the neon sign that's out front. They're probably a humping,

[00:24:21] CHELSEY DONN: like neon with the legs moving or whatever. It's

[00:24:23] TREY GERRALD: like the mud flap girl. Like I'm sure their major seller is like Bud Light.

[00:24:29] TREY GERRALD: Like I have a visual. So To me, I think the impact is sort of like, okay, he's like, got a sense of humor about it. I also do appreciate the one sentiment of reality of like, what, what would be the benefit of us doing this? Like, right. But I do also hear your point. Like, I do think maybe Maybe Vinny went a little too far, but not in any way.

[00:24:51] TREY GERRALD: It's like thrusters. But

[00:24:52] CHELSEY DONN: then also like Vinny said, and I have to say yes, like this did go viral, whatever I found it in that forum, but there's 385 funny votes and 43 cool votes and 42 useful votes on this reply and It does seem like Vinny's being honest about saying, like, thanks for giving me the opportunity to, like, write this, like, you know, crazy review, right?

[00:25:19] TREY GERRALD: I think I can crown

[00:25:20] CHELSEY DONN: Vinny. Okay, I think I can crown Vinny, too.

[00:25:25] VOICEOVER: The queens are tabulating.

[00:25:32] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, interesting. This is always so funny to me. I'm holding up four crowns. Trey is holding up three and a half. Trey, you go first. Why three and a half crowns for Vinny C?

[00:25:42] TREY GERRALD: I think you've persuaded me a little bit here. I do think like, I put Middle of the Road only just because I feel like I do find the response appropriate to what I'm imagining a bar that calls itself Thrusters to be.

[00:25:55] TREY GERRALD: It's like, we're here to have fun. We're here to like relax and like drink and like, you know, do whatever. So like, to me, I'm not that offended. And I think the impact of the reply is sort of like, Yeah, the accusation is insane, which I felt to begin with. And it does make me think like, well, maybe I'll go.

[00:26:13] TREY GERRALD: And if I see Vincenzo, like, I feel like he's probably going to be like, Oh, hey, you know, you might call me a faggot, but that's secondary. Like, I just, I think it's like, it's not that serious. Yeah. Like, We're like, we're serving alcohol and we're not gonna like, I don't know, neither here nor there. It's opinion, I think, like, is, should you be more professional?

[00:26:32] TREY GERRALD: Should you not? I don't know. I think it's entertaining. I don't know. I think I would still go there just to take a picture in front of the thruster sign. Why did you say four?

[00:26:41] CHELSEY DONN: I was also influenced by you, but I said four, because I think It's a funny review. It's super unique. I've never seen a reply like this where we're sort of like, it's almost like if you're doing, um, like a roast battle with somebody and then it's like, okay, you know, Vinny just mic dropped, right?

[00:26:58] CHELSEY DONN: Like you came at them thinking that your whack and your whatever was going to really land and Vinny C was like, I'm going to flip it and reverse it and really send it back into your face. And I think that that's interesting. I think some of the fears that I had about this not being professional are excusable within the setting.

[00:27:17] CHELSEY DONN: And I think that most people are not going to react to this necessarily being like, what an asshole. I think that it was really good that Vinny pointed out, like, why are we allowed to say these things, but I'm not allowed to be honest. You know, that was Yeah. Yeah. An interesting perspective that I think we hadn't heard.

[00:27:35] CHELSEY DONN: So for that reason, four crowns for Vinny C.

[00:27:39] TREY GERRALD: That was funny. All right. Thank you. Yelp. Good job.

[00:27:43] VOICEOVER: There's a reply.

[00:27:45] CHELSEY DONN: But wait, so I wanted to do that first because I wanted you to, I wanted you to have the experience. of somebody going to the Yelp page today, I wanted you to experience what a customer of thrusters would experience if they went to the Yelp page in this present moment and read this review, right?

[00:28:07] CHELSEY DONN: So that was why I started there. But now I just want to go back. And I do have the original reply that Jeff wrote that got taken down. You want to hear?

[00:28:17] TREY GERRALD: Oh,

[00:28:18] CHELSEY DONN: sorry, that Vinny wrote.

[00:28:20] TREY GERRALD: Oh, I just assumed it was exactly everything but with fluff. No, we have the original

[00:28:25] CHELSEY DONN: review that Vinny C. wrote that got taken down.

[00:28:29] TREY GERRALD: Oh, no.

[00:28:31] CHELSEY DONN: Jeff, first off, no one does what you're saying happened. Yeah, we replaced a middle of the road tequila with a lesser tequila. Bars don't actually do that. I make the same amount of money on either bottle of shit I sell you guys. Fact is, Jeff, you got a cast of Migos and the bartender treated you like an idiot because you were a dumb idiot that claimed a false thing, I see you have three other one star Yelp reviews, clearly that is because you are a complaining butthole person, here's what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna one star Yelp your mother because she made Jeff the Yelp complaining fart guy baby, good luck out there and Yelp one star crybaby idiot butthole guy land.

[00:29:13] CHELSEY DONN: You suck. The world thinks you suck, Jeff. Yes, the entire world thinks Jeff sucks like a fart. However, farts are funny. Jeff just stinks. I guarantee that the last girl that had sex with you is currently at an AA podium right now. I knew I hit rock bottom when I woke up having sex with Jeff, the one star Yelp reviewer, butthole, fart face guy.

[00:29:40] CHELSEY DONN: What?

[00:29:45] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah.

[00:29:46] TREY GERRALD: Okay. That is, that is not the fluff review. That is a completely different reply.

[00:29:53] CHELSEY DONN: That's right.

[00:29:55] TREY GERRALD: Oh, what do you think about

[00:29:56] CHELSEY DONN: Vinny now? I feel

[00:29:57] TREY GERRALD: very differently.

[00:29:59] CHELSEY DONN: That's right. Me too.

[00:30:01] TREY GERRALD: Well, okay. Well, clearly Vincenzo went a little, like, really went too far in that reply. And now that also makes me think, yeah, maybe, maybe they do replace it since you're that angered by this and you did that much, much research.

[00:30:17] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah. Why are you that like, Irritated by this and I understand why Yelp took this down. I feel like this is like borderline harassment, like saying that the entire world hates somebody and it's like you're really trolling here. This isn't just like a little bit like let's make fun of fluff. This is really a line.

[00:30:39] TREY GERRALD: Yeah, it feels much different than a roast. This feels like an annihilation. Like it feels like you've lost the humor here because you're like, Going after the person, the last person that had sex with, like, it's all a little bit like what they were talking about the tequila being,

[00:30:52] CHELSEY DONN: yeah, and it was such a short review.

[00:30:54] CHELSEY DONN: It wasn't like I can understand maybe going to town on somebody if they'd written like a huge long review about like your integrity and your business and how you never are honest about the liquor that you're like, if they really went on and on and on and on and on and on, but maybe, but like the original review was only like four sentences.

[00:31:14] TREY GERRALD: Right. Also, the sentence about whatever shit I sell you guys or whatever, that was also like, wait, what?

[00:31:20] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah. I mean, he was being sarcastic. That didn't feel

[00:31:23] TREY GERRALD: playful. Like, I don't think it was meant to be evil, but it did come across a little bit like we're losing the narrative. Like, stay focused. Like, what?

[00:31:32] TREY GERRALD: Like, it is like really splintering off from the point. So if I'm considering my original crowning for the edited reply, Yeah, where I really felt like, who cares? It's a bar called thrusters. This actually is like, I don't want to get this owner angry. Like, what if I like,

[00:31:50] CHELSEY DONN: well, that's what I'm wondering.

[00:31:51] CHELSEY DONN: Like, is it this weird psychology where it's like, Oh, I want to make people not want to write one star reviews because if they do, this is how I'm gonna reply. Because, like, we've read a lot of one star reviews on this show, Trey, and that Even though we don't really love Jeff, like that's not the worst one star review we've ever read.

[00:32:12] CHELSEY DONN: We've read some really damning reviews, right? And this is like putting it out there sort of plainly, which I guess can be damning, but it's not like he said the bartender was a dick, but that's like as bad as he got,

[00:32:29] TREY GERRALD: which like I didn't even say at the time, but like, I don't even think that's that big of a, that's not that negative.

[00:32:33] TREY GERRALD: Like, Right. To say someone was a dick. Exactly. You know, I, I don't know. I, it does make me think that Vincenzo could have used an edit or, or like someone else to sort of be like, uh, the approach is fun. Let's stick with the fun approach, but let's, uh, take away the stuff about the mom and take the stuff away about like, everyone hates you.

[00:32:55] TREY GERRALD: And like the last person you had sex, like all of that's It does feel a little extreme in relation to what the original review was. No wonder it went viral.

[00:33:03] CHELSEY DONN: Totally. Oh, by the way, I just want to give quick credit to SourBeefHoop, who posted this review on Reddit.

[00:33:13] TREY GERRALD: It is funny to me, though, that Vinny points out that, like, Casamigos is, like, a very mid level tequila.

[00:33:18] TREY GERRALD: Like, that is really funny.

[00:33:20] CHELSEY DONN: What?

[00:33:21] TREY GERRALD: That's really funny to me. Okay, so, like, should we crown this original reply?

[00:33:26] VOICEOVER: Yes,

[00:33:27] CHELSEY DONN: I think let's crown it.

[00:33:28] TREY GERRALD: Okay.

[00:33:29] VOICEOVER: The queens are tabulating.

[00:33:35] VOICEOVER: Tone

[00:33:35] CHELSEY DONN: to school. Okay, I'm holding up one crown, Trey's holding up a half crown. Why half crown? I

[00:33:41] TREY GERRALD: am just, I don't know. It just now this, this just puts, uh, sour taste in my mouth. Yeah, like I'm sour beef hoop person here. It doesn't liken me to the business owner. It makes me think like, so I think it has a negative impact.

[00:33:57] TREY GERRALD: And so therefore I can only do a half crown because you're not helping the case here. Like you've gone a little extreme.

[00:34:03] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, you got off the rails.

[00:34:05] TREY GERRALD: Why did you say one?

[00:34:06] CHELSEY DONN: I said one. It did go viral. You know, people did read it. It like made some sort of a wrong statement. Yeah, I guess for the wrong reasons, that's why I'm like, I'm, I should maybe give that credit to Vinny, but like, I think Vinny, like, really just topped off here and lost almost all of their credibility, I think they really could have used a friend in this moment, or maybe a punching bag, or something, I also think like, Vinny's like obsessed with farts and buttholes and, Like good for them.

[00:34:37] CHELSEY DONN: Oh yeah. But like it was a little bit redundant after a while. And even for thrusters, I felt like, you know, Vinny took it too far. So I gave a crown, maybe more like a half crown. If I'm not factoring in the fact that people found this review. But no bueno. This was a really like flip it and reverse it kind of episode, Trey.

[00:34:59] TREY GERRALD: This was interesting. I'm glad you found this on Reddit. Like that's an interesting thing. We should consider that more in the future. I

[00:35:05] CHELSEY DONN: know I don't usually do it because I'm like, is it cheating? You know, but I want to like really do the on the ground research for you. But also there's so many people on Reddit.

[00:35:13] CHELSEY DONN: And I feel like as long as we're giving credit to to those people who are sort of in our corner and trying to explore these funny reviews. I think it's, it's fun and interesting. And thank you, Sour Beef Hoop.

[00:35:24] TREY GERRALD: Yes. And thank you, Chelsey. Great choice. Thrusters Lounge.

[00:35:27] CHELSEY DONN: Thrusters. If we, if you're ever on the West Coast, Trey, maybe we'll have to head over there and meet Vinny face to face.

[00:35:33] CHELSEY DONN: We could bring him a whoopee cushion.

[00:35:35] TREY GERRALD: That's good. He would love that.

[00:35:36] CHELSEY DONN: All right, that was fun. I think we reached the most regal portion of our show, Trey. That went by fast. Who are you inducting for? My Royal

[00:35:49] TREY GERRALD: Highness. All right. So Chelsey, I really want to shout out this product that I'm obsessed with. I'm wondering if you've ever, I'm sharing my screen so you can see it, but have you ever heard of Fresh Sets?

[00:36:02] CHELSEY DONN: I haven't, but I've used these kind of things before.

[00:36:05] TREY GERRALD: Okay, so, so for the listener, if you're not on our Patreon, where you can watch our episodes, this, okay. These come in little three packs. They call them settes, which I had to Google like what a sette is. And it's basically small

[00:36:20] CHELSEY DONN: satchel,

[00:36:21] TREY GERRALD: well, it's like cloth.

[00:36:23] TREY GERRALD: that's filled with like herbs and and seedlings and things so this isn't the true definition of a sachet but they call so okay so these are like my mom had them like when i was growing up and they are outrageously odorful where like this one specifically is the white cotton and so they're built to stick in like Review Queen, One Star Zinger, Crowns, inducting, My Royal Highness, inducting,

[00:36:58] CHELSEY DONN: My Royal Highness,

[00:37:01] TREY GERRALD: But that's my like secret is I love to put it in my guest bed so that when my guests come like it smells like really fresh clean linen.

[00:37:07] TREY GERRALD: They're so overly potent but like in the most delicious way possible and I want to shout them out because I'm obsessed with them and I love them and also they are distinct in the fact that they were the original scented envelope sachet and they use A 30 percent recycled paper, all biodegradable. So I have to induct them for My Royal Highness this week.

[00:37:32] TREY GERRALD: The Fresh Scents Scented Satchets. And my personal recommendation is the scent of white cotton. Love that. I just love them. They really will change your linen closet, so go get them.

[00:37:46] CHELSEY DONN: Do

[00:37:47] TREY GERRALD: it. Well, that's it, Queen. We did it. Another round on the R U A R Q Ferris wheel of fluff, butthole, fart, piñata, Casamigos.

[00:38:00] TREY GERRALD: Or is it?
