[00:00:29] CHELSEY DONN: Hello

[00:00:33] TREY GERRALD: Hi, and hello.

[00:00:35] TREY GERRALD: Welcome to a very special new chapter of Review That Review.

[00:00:42] CHELSEY DONN: That's right. This is our very first video episode. Yes.

[00:00:52] TREY GERRALD: Can you see us? Can you see me? Can you see me?

[00:00:55] TREY GERRALD: Hi!

[00:00:56] TREY GERRALD: Uh, yes, after nearly 200 audio episodes, we are now entering, here we are, we have entered the visual podcasting landscape.

[00:01:07] CHELSEY DONN: That's right. So welcome to Review That Review, the video edition.

[00:01:12] CHELSEY DONN: Where we are dedicated to reviewing the wild, the hilarious, and the downright ridiculous world of

[00:01:18] TREY GERRALD: Online Reviews! That is Chelsey Donn,

[00:01:25] CHELSEY DONN: and that is Trey Gerrald,

[00:01:28] TREY GERRALD: but now you can actually see us! And, call us, The Review Queens, Chelsey, yes, here we go, the very first visual Kvetchy place, Chelsey, would you like to,

[00:01:47] CHELSEY DONN: lodge a complaint, yes, in fact, Trey, I would love to lodge a complaint, thank you for asking, okay, let's just jump right into it, you know when you're opening, like, I'll start with the ketchup bottle, because I feel like they're the most, Guilty.

[00:02:06] CHELSEY DONN: Guilty. Thank you. So you know when you open it and it has like that perforated plastic piece above the like, the metallic piece that's sticking to the top of the new ketchup bottle before you can open it? And it says like, open here, right? Use this as a Can anyone do that successfully?

[00:02:31] TREY GERRALD: Now,

[00:02:32] CHELSEY DONN: does anyone not just end up using their teeth around like the corner of the metal part to get the top part off so that then you could peel it?

[00:02:41] CHELSEY DONN: It's so frustrating. And it's like, there's something so much more insulting when you tell me, manufacturer, you tell me, tear here, open here. Have you had testers test this out to see if they could understand? Is there something wrong with your perforation machine when you say tear here? Because I could be there trying to tell You know what the worst culprit is, Trey?

[00:03:10] CHELSEY DONN: Medication. You go to a gas station You need a Tylenol stat, you got a blaring headache, whatever it is, and you're trying to tear here, on that little corner, lack of a perforation, to get it open while you got a migraine headache, Or what if you need Benadryl, it's an emergency, you have an allergic reaction, you need Benadryl, how the hell are you gonna open that thing?

[00:03:33] TREY GERRALD: Yep.

[00:03:34] CHELSEY DONN: How have we not fixed this?

[00:03:37] TREY GERRALD: It's a very good complaint. I hear it, especially when I like ketchup bottles. I think about how, like, because it is metal y, like, they'll have, like, three little, like, divots down that you have to, like, dig out with your fingernails, try to, like, lift it, and then it's, like, it'll tear off, and then you, like, only have two more chances to try to get out.

[00:03:57] TREY GERRALD: And it really is

[00:03:59] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, my God. Yeah, if you rip it in the middle

[00:04:03] TREY GERRALD: You're messed up, you're done. Ugh. Then you have to like stab right through it with like a pencil. Then you have to stab through it,

[00:04:09] CHELSEY DONN: and then you gotta be like, Fuck, that's just gonna be stabbed, and this is how the ketchup comes out now.

[00:04:13] TREY GERRALD: Yeah, really, really, all for what?

[00:04:16] TREY GERRALD: Security purposes? All for what? So we don't get poisoned? I mean, I

[00:04:18] CHELSEY DONN: guess so that it doesn't leak, right?

[00:04:21] TREY GERRALD: Oh, yeah.

[00:04:22] CHELSEY DONN: Or it doesn't open, like if it's like a package of like, I don't know, gummy bears or something, so it's not like opening. I mean, we just gotta do better, guys. The technology has gotta be better than it was back when Trey and I were kids in the 90s.

[00:04:37] CHELSEY DONN: Why are we still doing this?

[00:04:41] TREY GERRALD: It's a great question. It's a really good complaint. I hear it. It is one of those regular annoyances that we just exist with and don't actually register the like impact it's having. So thank you for bringing it to the forefront. Added to the ledger.

[00:04:55] CHELSEY DONN: All right, Trey. Well, I think it's officially time for us to break into our first ever video Review That Review, um, episode.

[00:05:05] CHELSEY DONN: And you, you sent me something in the mail, Trey.

[00:05:10] TREY GERRALD: I did.

[00:05:11] CHELSEY DONN: You sent me something.

[00:05:13] TREY GERRALD: Mail call, Chelsey got a little package, and interestingly enough, I have the little package too. But, before Chelsey opens it and before we get into this review, So drab. If you are loving the show, be sure to hit that subscribe button, give us a little like if you're having fun, drop a comment below to tell us what made you laugh, gasp, or cringe the most.

[00:05:38] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, we love hearing your thoughts and it's a totally free way for you to support the podcast and help us grow and Keeps the reviews coming your way. So if you want the reviews You better leave a comment.

[00:05:50] TREY GERRALD: Well, speaking of, let's jump in. Let's do it.

[00:05:56] CHELSEY DONN: Review That Review.

[00:06:00] CHELSEY DONN: As you know, we are your trusty Review Queens. We bring in reviews from the internet that we feel need to be inspected.

[00:06:09] TREY GERRALD: We bring you a review, we break it down, we rate the impact of that review on a scale from zero to five crowns. It's a very regal process that we call Assess That Kvetch. I'm gonna have you open it and then I'll, and then I'll talk through it.

[00:06:25] CHELSEY DONN: It's definitely like rather small. Feels like about the size of a credit card, maybe? It's sort of hard on the outside, but it feels like a frame because it feels hollow in the middle. It feels like in my hands, it feels like something, a frame that would go like a picture frame maybe or like a tiny little frame that would go around your license or something like that.

[00:06:50] TREY GERRALD: That's not that.

[00:06:52] CHELSEY DONN: It's not. It's not. Alright, should I open it? I've gotta go with the perforation. Damn it.

[00:07:04] CHELSEY DONN: It's tea. Is it tea? Is

[00:07:06] TREY GERRALD: it a night guard? Is it bleach trays? Really great guesses. Alright, today, Chelsey and I are going to cover this one star Amazon review from a person named Mendy G for

[00:07:30] TREY GERRALD: two pairs, beautiful smile, nature, and comfortable, temporarily adjustable, For men and women, clip on veneers. It says nature, nature and comfortable.

[00:07:51] CHELSEY DONN: So even the company obviously is not that.

[00:07:54] TREY GERRALD: So these are 18 and 66 cents. Sorry to be gauche and tell you how much I spent on you. All right. So first of all, I follow this amazing, uh, YouTuber named Swoop.

[00:08:09] TREY GERRALD: And she has clip on veneers and it's one of her sponsors so she talks about them a lot. So I've been like, clip on veneers? What in the world? So there's obviously like a really true need for these and um, those are like expensive. These, this exact company, you can buy on Timu. How did you

[00:08:29] CHELSEY DONN: open your bag so fast?

[00:08:29] CHELSEY DONN: There's no perforation.

[00:08:31] TREY GERRALD: Yeah, there's a little, a little like baggy. Um, so these are 18, which are more expensive, but you can buy them literally the same kind on Timu for 2, but I'm a little nervous of Timu and all that. So I just swung big and now we have two sets. Um,

[00:08:50] CHELSEY DONN: are we going to try these on before or after?

[00:08:53] TREY GERRALD: So I think since this is a very special episode, you know, in the past with the audio podcast, we do have the video component Patreon. So we would save these live reviews for the Patreon. But I think in honor of today, we will live review them as well. Yes.

[00:09:09] CHELSEY DONN: Okay. After

[00:09:11] TREY GERRALD: I think we should read it first. Yeah, because I thought maybe I could try it on and then try to read the review with them on.

[00:09:17] TREY GERRALD: But I don't want to confuse you. Cheers! Mindy G's point. So let's

[00:09:22] CHELSEY DONN: give Mindy G the floor and then we'll take the floor.

[00:09:25] TREY GERRALD: I think that's right. And we'll give them the honor of, you know, not leading the witness. So Mindy G, one star, verified purchase on Amazon. The subject is in all caps, also just heads up, there's a lot of all caps in this review, so we'll get to that, but the subject is ABSOLUTELY NOT, and this was reviewed September 8th of 2024, here we are.

[00:09:55] TREY GERRALD: Mendy G. Can we get any more plastic, like Halloween teeth? For anyone to say they blend right in with their natural teeth, something's seriously wrong. I cannot believe in believe anyone would ever wear these in public phase. The Worst Product I've Seen Yet,

[00:10:22] TREY GERRALD: Waste A Money, Look Like A Joker, I Thought The Mold Would Be Your Teeth, Not These Nasty Looking Things, Oh My God, Don't Waste Ya Money, Nothing looks more ridiculous, awful, awful, Save your money and get them fixed, Unless find a great product that really resembles teeth and are Not plastic porcelain would be better.

[00:11:03] TREY GERRALD: I'm a keep, enter, looking, but done here. I'd be ashamed to try and even sell them false advertisement, ghost emoji, and then the like wide eyed like emoji.

[00:11:23] CHELSEY DONN: Wow. Okay. Um, so Mindy G. I'm guessing did win the spelling bee at their school.

[00:11:31] TREY GERRALD: I think it's evident. It's evident,

[00:11:33] CHELSEY DONN: right? Can you use that in a sentence?

[00:11:36] CHELSEY DONN: Um, okay, well, straight off the bat, just because we have the product and I can't, I can't help but like, validate them a little bit. Now, the picture on the page, because you viewed the page.

[00:11:49] TREY GERRALD: Yeah, I'll, I'll send it to you. But yeah, I like, does it look plastic

[00:11:53] CHELSEY DONN: in the picture? And also, I'm wondering what the overall is.

[00:11:58] TREY GERRALD: So there are six reviews. The overall is 1. 7.

[00:12:02] CHELSEY DONN: Oh, wow. Okay.

[00:12:04] TREY GERRALD: Uh, I've just sent to Chelsey. Oh, my God.

[00:12:07] CHELSEY DONN: That's horrifying. There's a picture of a woman That has, I guess, like, knocked out one of her major front teeth and this product has, I assume, come to the rescue.

[00:12:18] TREY GERRALD: But it's pretty obvious to me that that is like a photoshopped picture of like the teeth being gone.

[00:12:24] TREY GERRALD: Yeah. Yeah.

[00:12:24] CHELSEY DONN: Yeah. Like they blacked out. And

[00:12:26] TREY GERRALD: then it's a picture of like veneers, which, um, I mean, I

[00:12:31] CHELSEY DONN: feel like they definitely don't look nearly as plastic. In this photo, as they do in real life, like in real life, I definitely thought that they were for like Halloween or like I said, like bleach trays, like something that you're going to use once, not

[00:12:49] TREY GERRALD: to emulate the look of real teeth, it's

[00:12:51] CHELSEY DONN: like a disposable item, not, not that you're going to use it.

[00:12:55] TREY GERRALD: Okay, not to leave the witness, but in mine, which is sort of hard to show. There, I can see that there's like black schmutz on the front of these teeth. So that's already upsetting to me, but I'm going to try this one because it came out first. Should we try it or

[00:13:10] CHELSEY DONN: we should go through the whole thing first?

[00:13:13] CHELSEY DONN: You know, you really want to try it.

[00:13:14] TREY GERRALD: I kind of want to try it while we review them. Well, I don't know. Is that going to like mess us up or should we just do it?

[00:13:22] CHELSEY DONN: I try. We make up the rules. That's what's so crazy. Let's just do it.

[00:13:25] TREY GERRALD: Okay, fine. Let's do it. Okay. All right. We heard the review.

[00:13:28] CHELSEY DONN: We know. We, we, we heard it before we tried it.

[00:13:32] TREY GERRALD: I mean, I will say that I did do a little research. So I think on the after show, we're going to actually do the boiling water and do the, like, actually apply it correctly.

[00:13:42] CHELSEY DONN: There's like a thing in the middle of it. What the hell is that? There's like a worm in the middle of the teeth.

[00:13:49] TREY GERRALD: In my research, I did discover that you boil this in water, the little, little guy, like the insert.

[00:13:57] TREY GERRALD: And then, You take it out and you put that on your teeth so that forms on your teeth and these are the mold. So you actually like are creating the veneers around your actual custom teeth. Oh, this is the mold. Correct, but people don't tend to understand that. So they actually put these on.

[00:14:23] TREY GERRALD: Oh, did you put it on with the thing in there or without? Without. This might be the bottom. I

[00:14:33] TREY GERRALD: mean, there's no way to talk with it. Oh, look at how messy you can't even pick it up. Which is the top? Which is the bottom? I mean, I can't even, I can't even talk. Like it doesn't fit. This is, I feel like I'm gonna choke. My teeth seem really yellow in this chair. Yeah, they really don't.

[00:15:00] CHELSEY DONN: I could not put the bottom in.

[00:15:01] CHELSEY DONN: I would absolutely choke. I have a small mouth. I'm not even gonna

[00:15:06] TREY GERRALD: try to put the top and the bottom in at the same time. Do I look pretty? Look at how yellow my t shirt is, it's horrible. But this white is like plastic white, this isn't the human white. That's the problem with veneers, I learned on Wendy Williams that you should never get veneers that are whiter than the whites of your eyes, because that's what makes them look fake.

[00:15:30] TREY GERRALD: Oh, this looks really, this does look fake, like, this is my teeth,

[00:15:40] TREY GERRALD: like, that would be horrible actually. Like, if I, I mean, I did pay 18 for this, I would be pissed if I didn't understand, but there are no instructions, it doesn't tell you to do, like, the mold, wow, you look really good, Chels. Hello, I'm from Sweden. It makes me want to be Swedish. Do I look like I have sexy teeth?

[00:16:07] TREY GERRALD: You look like in order to keep a man, I have to like, do my teeth.

[00:16:15] CHELSEY DONN: I do kind of want to do it the right way, but maybe we'll do that in the after show.

[00:16:19] TREY GERRALD: We'll do that in the after show. Alright, let's talk about Mindy.

[00:16:21] CHELSEY DONN: Okay, Mindy, Mindy, Mindy. Well, I will say, like, upon taking it out of the box, I would immediately, I, like, my first question to you was like, What is this worm thing?

[00:16:30] CHELSEY DONN: So like, I think that I would, unlike Mindy Sort of research that. That's why I'm curious in the after show if we do it the right way. Like, are we just assuming that Mindy did it wrong?

[00:16:42] TREY GERRALD: I mean, I guess. I mean, it sounds like they did it wrong. Yes. I mean, I think I think from the start here, the spelling and grammar, they did not do a second pass at this.

[00:16:54] TREY GERRALD: They did not do a spell check.

[00:16:56] CHELSEY DONN: Yes.

[00:16:57] TREY GERRALD: You know, that first sentence is so long with no punctuation.

[00:17:01] VOICEOVER: Oh

[00:17:01] TREY GERRALD: my god. I mean, it is funny that it says it makes you look like a joker. Like, I could see Joaquin Phoenix wearing that.

[00:17:10] CHELSEY DONN: It looks terrifying. I was hysterical laughing at myself when I looked at it. I mean, it is ridiculous.

[00:17:16] CHELSEY DONN: It is awful. You should save your money. I like the get them fixed, right? Like, as if the person that spent 18 on these could afford, like, 200, 000 for veneers or whatever it costs, I don't even know, even though my dad does them, but

[00:17:33] TREY GERRALD: I know, like, I have the, do you remember the swan where they all got da Vinci veneers?

[00:17:39] CHELSEY DONN: Oh yes, the swan, that was like such a show that would not be on the air right now, be so politically incorrect, but at the time it was taking like someone that would be considered ugly and then giving them a bunch of plastic surgery, traditionally ugly, Giving them a bunch of plastic surgery to make them look good.

[00:17:58] TREY GERRALD: What do you think of the value here?

[00:18:01] CHELSEY DONN: Well, I definitely think it hits home of like, Oh, when you're going to be receiving this product is when I received it. I was immediately like, are these Halloween teeth? Like, that's what you're going to be receiving. So. I don't know that it seems like it might, in hindsight, be misrepresenting if these are, in fact, just like the molds, and then, you know, you're really supposed to, because there's also holes in the bottom,

[00:18:27] VOICEOVER: if you're not

[00:18:28] CHELSEY DONN: listening, it's like, there's, the molds have holes in the bottom, so I would imagine that the holes in the bottom, when you heat up that plastic,

[00:18:37] TREY GERRALD: Yes,

[00:18:37] CHELSEY DONN: that's like what gets it to shape to your molars and gets like the plastic to come through in a way that it would attach Right and be a clip on It's it's like you could see how this is like basically creating a custom clip on where it clips on the back

[00:18:53] TREY GERRALD: But like I have no idea like first of all I don't think that these look like the actual image that they're advertising on Amazon And it doesn't fit my mouth, like, my actual teeth are bigger than these teeth, so like,

[00:19:10] CHELSEY DONN: Oh really?

[00:19:11] TREY GERRALD: This would not work for me, my front two teeth are taller than the actual front, so like, it wouldn't, you look so good, girl.

[00:19:26] TREY GERRALD: Also, This is ridiculous, this is insane. Speaking of the color, You would have to do the top and the bottom, because you can't just do one, because it, like, you can see the color is different,

[00:19:40] CHELSEY DONN: yeah, but it doesn't look, I feel like I'm choking on this, I, I,

[00:19:46] TREY GERRALD: it's hard,

[00:19:48] CHELSEY DONN: oh my god, it's awful,

[00:19:50] TREY GERRALD: it's awful, I do feel like a joker,

[00:19:52] CHELSEY DONN: you definitely look like a joker, listen, I look like I'm going to

[00:19:55] TREY GERRALD: purge,

[00:19:56] CHELSEY DONN: 100%, I look like I'm going to purge, 100%, Want to validate Mindy G because if you like did did not do a digger deep here Which clearly Mindy is not apt to do,

[00:20:12] CHELSEY DONN: If you're watching this right now, you are seeing a serious, Are you drooling? It's really, it's a serious sight to be seen. Anyway, I just want to validate like out of the box if I did no deeper digging, I would definitely Think that Mindy is a hundred percent right besides the fact that they can't spell for the life of them

[00:20:37] TREY GERRALD: Do we think that they're being shady or are they being truthful?

[00:20:40] CHELSEY DONN: I think they're being truthful to their Interpretation of what they received, right?

[00:20:46] TREY GERRALD: Correct, because there's no instructions So which is

[00:20:49] CHELSEY DONN: interesting that this is a review that we do have the product and we did cheat a little bit and we did Try it ahead of time because I think, had I not tried it ahead of time, had I not seen the worm, and I was just approaching this review blind.

[00:21:03] TREY GERRALD: Yes.

[00:21:05] CHELSEY DONN: And, I may, well, did she attach an image? She didn't attach an image.

[00:21:10] TREY GERRALD: No. One person found it helpful. I will say, to me, I think the humor is like in the errors. Right. And saying, yeah, instead of your, um. You get a real sense of who this character is, but, I mean, it, it is like a, all caps, like, Absolutely not.

[00:21:30] TREY GERRALD: Like, it doesn't blend into teeth. Something's seriously wrong if you thought that these would be natural teeth. Like, it makes you look bad. It's the worst product I've seen yet. Like, I'm going to keep doing research. Like, it does seem fair. These are fair points, even if they're misguided. And I think there's an impact for me reading it that where I'm sort of like, I would not buy this.

[00:21:52] TREY GERRALD: No, it's such an extreme response that I'm sort of like,

[00:21:56] CHELSEY DONN: yeah. And they're really hammering the note home. They give us like lists of like ridiculous, awful, save your money, like nasty, whatever.

[00:22:06] TREY GERRALD: Halloween. Halloween. Yeah.

[00:22:09] CHELSEY DONN: They're, they're saying so many things and it's a verified purchase. That I would have no reason not to believe them.

[00:22:17] CHELSEY DONN: Now, I do have the product, so I am curious in the after show if we do it right to see if it's any better. Can I not run it under really hot water in my bathroom?

[00:22:26] TREY GERRALD: We'll find out on the after show.

[00:22:28] CHELSEY DONN: I also have a, uh, whatever.

[00:22:30] TREY GERRALD: I think that I can. I think I can crown Mindy. How do you feel?

[00:22:34] CHELSEY DONN: We just, I mean, we briefly touched on the entertainment value here.

[00:22:39] CHELSEY DONN: I mean, I guess I was entertained in reliving this process with Mindy and imagining what it must have been like to be someone that really wanted real veneers and then got this in the mail. Okay, I can crown.

[00:22:51] TREY GERRALD: Okay, great. All right. So Chelsey and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards in an effort to be fair and not influence one another.

[00:22:58] TREY GERRALD: We will simultaneously reveal our rating. And here we go.

[00:23:03] VOICEOVER: The queens are tabulating,

[00:23:09] CHELSEY DONN: so to school. Interesting. Oh wow. With three and a half. You had one and a half. I almost went two and a half. I really was going back and forth. I was trying to separate my bias from this. Although, you know what, I'm sorry. I have to do two and a half because I forgot about all the spelling errors. So two and a half crowns, sorry guys to do a switcheroo on you.

[00:23:31] CHELSEY DONN: Um, but it was a buzzer beater for me. I think that if I didn't have the product or see the worm, the impact of this review would be not adding to cart 100%. And so I think I have to give points for that as a value. If you are going to unequivocally make me say not gonna go any further, Absolutely not buying this product.

[00:23:53] CHELSEY DONN: That's an achievement. Even if there are spelling errors and even if maybe you're not the most relatable narrator because you don't put a lot of care into the writing of your reviews. I don't know how much care you put into the wearing of it, but still no excuses. I would believe I'm going to get plastic junk and I wouldn't purchase.

[00:24:11] CHELSEY DONN: So that's why I went with Two and a half crowns, but Trey only went with one and a half. So let us know why

[00:24:18] TREY GERRALD: everything you're saying. I just feel like the point is received from the subject, which great, but then everything else like needs some copy editing. Like it's pretty rough. And then the whole question of like, did you do the product wrong?

[00:24:33] TREY GERRALD: But then there's no included direction. So I don't know. I mean, I did buy it, but I bought it for the intentions of research. I think that Mindy could do a little bit better. So one and a half crowns, uh, and I hope they get the veneers they're looking for.

[00:24:51] CHELSEY DONN: I mean, I hope they do too, because this, this ain't it.

[00:24:58] TREY GERRALD: No.

[00:24:58] CHELSEY DONN: No.

[00:24:59] TREY GERRALD: All right. Well, join our Patreon if you want to watch. We'll do a little more research there. Um, but Chelsey. Yes. We have reached the most regal portion of our show. Who are you inducting for?

[00:25:13] CHELSEY DONN: My Royal Highness. Well, Trey, thank you for asking. I'm sort of taking out of, uh, sort of taking a page out of your book and I want to induct a feeling.

[00:25:25] CHELSEY DONN: And I think that you probably have your own version of this, but. It's the feeling of getting home at the end of a very long workday. First thing that happens is I take the bra off.

[00:25:42] TREY GERRALD: And it is the

[00:25:42] CHELSEY DONN: most liberating feeling. If you're someone that wears bras, I know you can relate. It's just like a breath of fresh air, and then I take, you know, gotta take the pants off, usually wearing jeans, gotta get those right off.

[00:25:57] CHELSEY DONN: And there's just something about being able to be in like, A t shirt, an underwear, just bra less, pants less. There's no better feeling than that. And even Goldie, as difficult as she can be, will fully let me get the bra off and get the pants off before I'm like, Hi, I'm so excited to see. It's amazing. I really, it's like one of her best qualities.

[00:26:19] CHELSEY DONN: So I wanted to induct that feeling of, uh, bras off, pants off, end of the day, get into bed, watch The Circle on Netflix, and just veg. Wow,

[00:26:34] TREY GERRALD: I hear it. Even though I don't wear a bra in my everyday life, I do have that sensation with my glasses. There is something nice about being able to just take them off.

[00:26:42] TREY GERRALD: Um, but also just like, concretely, like sitting down in more comfortable clothing, like just getting Getting to relax and dove in after a day.

[00:26:54] CHELSEY DONN: After a day, you know? I

[00:26:56] TREY GERRALD: hear that. Taking your clip on veneers off. Sometimes it's

[00:26:59] CHELSEY DONN: been a day, you gotta get the veneers off, you gotta just relax, you know?

[00:27:05] TREY GERRALD: Nice induction.

[00:27:05] CHELSEY DONN: Thank you.
